About:: The Armour Modelling and Preservation Society (AMPS), Canadian Region, is proud to present AMPS Great White North, an AMPS Regional Model Show and exhibit.
The show will be held on Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st, 2014 in conjunction with The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum and the Ferret Club, in the Historic 420 Wing Club House at the Oshawa Municipal Airport, 1000 Stevenson Rd North in Oshawa, Ontario.
The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum will be holding its annual Aquino 2014 day, which inclues a swap meet, vehicle display, reinactors, and real vehicle drivebys.
The Historic Club House was home to the RCAF 420 Bomber Wing during the Second World War, and contains memorabilia from this unit.

Book Signing on May 31st:
Roger Lucy, author of the new "Canada's Pride - the Ram Tank and its Variants", will be signing copies of his book at the Service Publications table on May 31st.

Judges Clinic on May 17th
Paul Roberts will be on hand at Hornet Hobbies from 10 am until 5 pm on May 17th to answer any questions you may have about the AMPS judging system. He will be conducting judges' training sessions several times during the day.
If you bring your models in, he can go through them with you, pointing out what the judges (like you) will be looking for.

Play with the Tanks on Friday Afternoon!
For a $5.00 donation, the museum will give you access to any equipment (unless it is in use at the time) on Friday May 30th from 12 noon to 5pm. You can climb all over and inside the vehicles and take as many pictures as you like. There are a few rules though:
You assume full responsibility for any injuries you may sustain - if you are accident prone, don't climb!
You must have a museum member in attendance if you wish to get inside the vehicle.
No one under 17 will be allowed in or on any vehicle.
Use common sense when around the vehicles. i.e. don't crawl under the tanks to get photos without someone knowing you are there.

Entrance fees

Entrance fees:: Admission to the Ontario Regiment Museum, the real vehicle displays and viewing the running vehicles is $10 per person, $2 for children and $20 for a family (2 adults and 2 children). This fee will be collected by the Ontario Regiment Musem staff when you enter the grounds.

General admission to the AMPS model display room and the vendors is no additional charge.

Due to judging and space constraints, contest registrants will be limited to a maximum of 3 models entered for judging. Additional models may be placed on the "Display Only" table. Contest registration fees are as follows. Note that the entry fee is the same whether you enter 1, 2 or 3 models:

Junior entry fee (up to 3 models maximum, up to 15 years old): $7
