Q: I guess there might perhaps be a metal barrel included, but I might as well ask: Anybody know what kind of flak system was on it, other than it being 88mm?

There seems to be some disagreement over Flak 18 and.Flak 36

Heh, I guess they made weapons in 1918 as well. 🙂 Somehow I guess I imagined they did not have flak back then in 1918.

*goes to check*
Oh, wow, I do that that kit. :|

<-- Currently building a German 128mm twin Flak (Takom), but doesn't dare make a build thread, as I can't seem to manage to finish any build these days, because of distractions and crippling doubt. The custom optional base, is probably a little too tall.

I glued on some nylon sowing thread around the styrene parts and added some liquid Vallejo putty, to try mimick welding seams. Might consider making a new one that is a little smaller, easier doing it again now that I know how. 🙂

I added some resin Hex bolts.. in 1:35, a few places. A small improvement over the fuzzy boltheads on the model. Some thin rod plastic was replaced with styrene rod to clean things up. A little tricky but certainly doable.

The steel rods on the left, isn't used in the kit, just needed a stiff metal rod to check an alignment issue, once the two barrels are to be placed onto the chassis. If things aren't properly aligned, there's a risk that things sort of sway to the side and stuff.

IIRC there was an excellemt build article online that addressed some issues

A reviewer had a helpful set of photos showing how he added some extra detailing, like wiring and other fixes. I have some copper wire I can use, and also some solder wire I can glue on, but the sodler wider is very soft and a little thick.
