Tamiya: Jeep Willys MB - WIP

Getting Started. Not too many parts but they are small. 

Assembled as much of the sub-sections as possible. Luckily most things are the same color.  

Using Tamiya's lacquer primer as the model pieces are too small to rough up with sand paper.  

You can see what pieces I pre-assembled for the main body. 

Same for the chassis. Even though I did remove a lot of seams priming showed what ones I missed.  

Everything primed and all the main airbrushing done. Need to finish hand painting parts and then clear coating. 

 

 

Completed hand painting details and parts. Omitting driver and some weapons till after the car is assembled 

Everything ready for clear coat. Used Alclad's Aqua Gloss. 

Decal'ing done 

Alclad's Aqua Gloss didn't like residue from the main decal... not sure if it's the micro set/sol. Lesson learnt to wash off residue before continuing 

Need to find a better Q-tip...  

Trying out dirt deposit... definite learning curve ahead...
