Ghibli: Porco Rosso (Macchi M.52r)

Here it is... one of my “Holy Grail” kits... 

...but it was darned expensive. So I made a recast to have a few “do-overs”. 

Scratchbuilt interior 

That’s a lot to cram into such a tiny cockpit 

I think it works. 

Got the floats cobbled together. Does that look lopsided to you? 

For scratchbuilt struts, I’m pretty happy with the result. 

Ok... needs some sanding I guess. 

Ok... looks like decanting the Tamiya spray paint was a good idea. 

The sunlight is a bit too bright to show off the details. 

A bit of touch up necessary. 

Gold paint on the wings... green on the tail. 

The gold really pops against the red. 

Ok... needs a Propeller... 

Hmmm... just like in the film. 

Added the windscreen... 

...and the propeller 

Almost done now. 

And done... rigging in place, decals on.
