BAe Hawk Mk66 U-1251 Swiss Air Force
Start of the new project, something simple, out of the box 🙂 The cockpit of this Italeri Kit is rather simple
The first layer of primer
The cockpit leaves me rather helpless than smiling, hmmm... Looked for a Wolfpack replacement, I hope I'll get it this week, I'm curious how the difference will be.
I got the kit for about the half retail price. And this is what it is worth for me, tbh. The big secret for me is how the T-Rebox can cost even twice the price of the Italeri...
Next attempt, the Wolfpack cockpit is ready so far
Not perfect, but a lot better.
I think this is OK for now 🙂
No inner life. So I had to add some parts...
... to avoid looking into an empty fuselage
Cockpit coverage was trimmed to fit in place...
... and painted black
Some black paint inside the fuselage added to give a bit of depth
looks not too bad 🙂
Fill the wing from the back...
Since the "Red Arrow" kit contains just one visor in a very simple shape, I had to build them scratch.
Ready to mount them on the glare shields ...
... and done
Slowly she comes to my taste.
Primer and Pre-Shade
The first white on the bottom...
...on the tail...
...and all over.
It will be necessary to fix some minor color inconsitencies
All in all, I like how she evolves 🙂
Registration airbrushed
Washed panellines on the belly ...
... and on the top
Magnetic gun-pod added
the fuselage is almost finished...
...some minor...
... touch-ups will be necessary.
Some work on the canopy: Started to scrape out the moulded detonation cords
sanded
and polished.
Preparing the vinyl cords from Matterhorn Circle (Robi, you did a fantastic job!)
The front cord is in, the rear is still on the masking tape
This is how they look pre-cut on on the film
and this is how they look on the canopy. Not a quickie, but worth the effort.
So here she is...
...I consider her finished
The canopy did not come out as desired,
but ok
All in all, it was good fun to build her
in a rather unusual color scheme.
