Diecast '46 Dodge Powerwagon service truck

Album image #1
I started with an inexpensive 1:32 scale diecast '46 Dodge Powerwagon in USMC camo.

Built the MiniArt 3-ton crane kit for the truck bed. This is a very detailed kit, but may of the parts are fragile, tiny, or both, so care and patience are a must.

Repainted and weathered the model, and added a fuel drum and some tools from MiniArt accessory kits.

The only details I added to the truck itself are the gas tank filler neck and the exhaust pipe, and I drilled out the center and lug-nut holes on the spare tire.

Super, very realistic looking result, even more so, when taking into consideration which base you started from !

Thanks for the comments, guys! I considered doing a little more detailing to the truck itself, but in the end, I couldn't muster the necessary enthusiasm to do the work. Anyway, I'm pleased enough with the work I did do. These were the first MiniArt accessory kits I've worked with. The detail is beautiful, but many of the parts in these kits are tiny! Tweezers, an Optivisor, arthritis meds, and patience are a must.
