Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor
These guys need a bit of work
These guys are looking much better now.
Everything primed in Mr Surfacer 1200 + Mr Levelling Thinners
Prepped and ready for primer
My first attempt at overspraying. This is SMS White over SMS Chassis Black.
Sealed in with a coat of SMS Flat Clear.
First time preshading. And maybe my last hahaha.
PSI was too low and it was spitting. More practice needed for the finer needle stuff.
First coat to go over the preshading was Tamiya XF-20 Medium Grey. I went too heavy and covered all the preshading and then remembered I was meant to spray the darker colour first for the camo markings. So I decided to lock this colour in as the lighter edges.
Masked up and ready for dark coat.
The first dark coat I tried was Tamiya XF-84 Dark Iron. I didn't realise it was a metallic and it came out as a dark sparkly jet. I didn't like it, so I went over it again with a mix of XF-85 Rubber Black and XF-2 Flat White (10:1).
Used blue-tac to mark up the camo markings.
Sprayed with XF-53 Neutral Grey.
The jets are hand painted with Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal.
These guys were a lot of fun. First time doing figures. These are all hand painted with a few different shades of greens, browns and flesh colirs
Made the pilot's irises a little bigger.
Then I realise there were eye decals...
...so I used them instead!
Only one pilot will get to fly! But who???
Gloss clear coat down and ready for decals
Weathered and washed. Ready for final flat clear coat.
Other parts ready for assembly.
Completed!
