Ideas

I thought to build a particular aircraft in the various liveries it wore throughout its history. Boeing 727-77C, msn 20370 provided such a chance based on many of the decals being available. I just have to create one colour schemes myself with my ALPS printer. Kit #1: Ansett "delta" c/s VH-RMT [Roodecal]

I have thought about that with a military blend. Plenty of former RAAF aircraft go onto serve with other air arms. Did you know that a third of the current USAF E-8 fleet are ex QANTAS B707s. When I build my E-8 in 1/72 it will be one of those ex QANTAS jets. Though with an Airliner it will change hands more often. Your idea with a civil subject will give you a lot more scope though. Now you have me thinking!

Very interesting. Yes I knew about the pedigree of the J-STARS aircraft. Three of the former Canadian CC-137s in there as well. I had never thought about building the life cycle of military aircraft. I am just about finished loading my completed project (~90% listed) and I focused on building as many c/s and operators of the F-104 and F-4 as I could fit on my bookshelves, back in the day. I parked them wingtip-to-wingtip and nose-to-tail MASDC/AMARC fashion. What's interesting about 727-77C msn 20370 is that it missed being delivered in the previous red/white/blue ANSETT c/s by several months. I have built VH-RME in the previous ANSETT c/s using the MS decals. I thought to change the reg from "E" to "T", but then it would be a "Whiffie."
