1979 Pontiac Firebird Coupe - wip

Album image #1
After I started the body, I threw the content together to show it. You can see, that the body is already work done.

Album image #2
The kit was partly started, Decals are missing

Album image #3
Sanded down the T-Top seals. On this model kit you have to cut out the roof panels if you want to have the T-Top open.

Album image #4
Filled the hood opening and the fender things.

Album image #5
Added the water strips on the side windows

Album image #6
First sanding of the hood. Looking forward that it turns out well.

Album image #7
After filling the body, the roof lines come through the filler.

Album image #8
Not to forget that this Firebird is still in progress. Left in the pictures the hood for the 1979. After filling not that worse like the 1977 on the right 🙁

Album image #9
Filling. Another round.

Album image #10
A little more filling with only little spots. I'm looking forward to end this cool work by next week. Talking about the hoods *lol*

Album image #11
Painted the pan light gray and some black on the chassis.

Album image #12
The engine compartment is black and the engine in my choice of blue.

Album image #13
Painted the base color for the interior. Only accents to do. I'll go with pure maroonish color. White seats have could been an option but I skipped it - so far. Maybe I'll overthink that... Notice the lighter blue on the engine.

The most work is done. I have to pay attention to the "ghostlines" on the roof. After spraying filler, they come to sight again.
The rest is nearly done. The hood needs a second round of sanding and I have to add the trim to the wind shield. Funny, that the 1977 Firebird doesn't have this trim.

The body as far as I see done. The hood takes a little more work.

Some months after, I did nothing with the body but started with the bigger parts. Painted the chassis ligt grey, the engine compartment black and the engine blue. Maybe I'll change that color later. Maybe.

The basic color of the interior is done. The engine is light blue now.

Album info

Bought this without decals and some parts started. As I own the first issue of it, I could do some other stuff with it.
The fact, that the T-Top had to be cut out, I want to sand it down to have a coupe at the end.
Then in addition I'll going for a standard coupe like the 1977.
No vinyl roof because the roof is smooth and plain.
Here I'm looking for Rally wheels for instead the turbo style rims.
Color not decided yet. It will not be red because there is one in the shelf already.
