Lets get it started - showing my progress here. i started this build begin of the year, but had no time or motivation to write it down.
Therefore, i'm sorry for the stupid first pictres :-D
I started to cut on both bodys the bumpers. The goal NOT the convertible. The white body is the one i work with, the yellow body will be completed after that.

In a long process, i attached the front and rear because of the bumperguards. There are more details, that will be choosed in the run of the build.
After the bumpers were glued, i started the chassis and painted the interior. i saw, that the 77 i am going with has other seats also, so i changed them too.
a little bit confusing...sorry!

next was painting the interior, chassis and engine, detail colors wll follow as always.
with putty and sanding the whole days, the front and rear will be good to go. the first layer of filler will show it 😉
Also i decided to change the hood. the white has a molded "cutout"-area - and i dont want to have ghostlines after painting. Also the 77 has no markings on the hood.
btw, the rear letters, the front emblem and the "Stingray" on the sides has to be removed also.

The 1977 has no vents on the engine hood?

So I'm informed: the 1977 was the first year without the vents on the engine hood B)
btw: the rear vents were gone in 1976.

The best looking Corvette?

If I had the choice I'd grab the C6 Z06 or HTC (HardTopCoupe because of it's really sexy rear end 😄 )
or C5 Z06 (the ZR1 is just a beast)
or the King of the Hill: 1991 C4 ZR-1

Did I mentioned that the 1973 is cool because of the year 😄?

This Kitbashing will be one of my favorite designs. I'd like to have a kit of it.

Best Corvette 1969 - 1973 C3, closely followed by the 1964 - 1967 C2.
My ultimate choice would be a Callaway Vette.
Anyway interesting build Dominik, have you decided on an engine yet?

Thanks mates 🙂
If i could choose one of all generations, my favorite is the C4 "1st Gen", before all facelifts like the A-Team Corvette - but not with the crossfire engine (but yes, i would take a C4 ZR1 also) 🙂

Nigel, i will go standard with the kit-engine, can't see a different on the pictures i have with the engine in the kit. only changing parts are the valvecovers. Important is the look outside imo, under the hood is "secundary" 🙂

So so, Nigel. The steal beam bumper Corvette 🙂 On that style I love how the front bumper sits so tight and smooth to the body. The rear end is also sexy with the steal bumper.

Thanks mates.

After a while....my fun part started with sanding, putty, sanding, and so on, I'm finally good with the work. No ghost lines anymore, no scratches to see. It needed a lot of sanding rounds and also rounds with filler and finally primer.
Now I can say, the Corvette turns into the straight line to finish

Hey Dom 🙂
You can go into "Manage", then hit "Advanced Settings" and scroll down to your pictures, to orient them in the correct orientation.
I'm loving your work, but my neck aches when I'm turning sideways to look at the pictures? 😉

After the first layer of red are painted, it needed a wet sanding and finally two layers of clear coat.
I'm very fine with the result.

Lookin' real good, Dominik! Was never a huge fan of the 'vette but if I had to pick one, the C3 would be my choice.
