WIP 1971 Oldsmobile 442

The panel lines are really, really sad. So my first work was to scribe them "better"

After a hour or more, it was done. Way better now.

Some stupid marks on the underside...

...had to be removed before primer

Also I started to glue the seats

primered the body

moldingline came thru after drying

partiell painted all parts 🙂

Engine painted (yes, there is another Olds Engine i'm working on)

started painting the undercarriage

after some layer of clear coat, body is done

Started the work on the body. Scribe the panel lines and cleaning all parts from silicone before painting.

Also, like my Bel Air, i made some progress on the Olds.
The body is primered and on the C-Pillar came a moldingline. I sanded some more parts on the body with 400 wetpaper again (C-Pillars, left rocker, right door) and primered the body twice. After every layer i wet sanded the paint to get it smooth. I thought, they were gon, but after the first layer of paint...here they are again!
I dont know, why here and there came plastic thru, that looked like grindingmarks...

now, after wetsanding and - i think about four layers with sanding between - they are gone.

Also i painted the rest of the parts. Interior, chassis and all other parts.

I have had that as well when using automotive paints. My solution is a 2k primer or a lot of very thin layers, no wet ones

Worked a little bit.
painted the engine and transmission. i choosed the automatic trans.
after some layers of clear coat with wet sanding between, i'm fine with the result - without polish as always.
