The Haunted Tank (Jigsaw Tank)

Album image #1
There’s the box. I was thinking about using the Zvezda kit, but it was sold out at the LHS and this one was cheaper... besides, it’s gonna get chopped up a bit.

Album image #2
I’ll use the turret from the Trumpeter M26 Pershing kit that was leftover after I built my blue Tintin Lunar Tank.

Album image #3
Here’s the sprues. Looks good.

Album image #4
First thing to do is put the turret together and chop open the top of the T-34 shell to figure out the placement. I wonder which barrel I should use?

Album image #5
Ok. This should work. In the main reference pic there’s only four bogie wheels. However, a) the number of wheels varied, sometimes panel to panel, let alone issue to issue, and b) I’ve see some people try to cut the chassis and it doesn’t leave any room for the forward driver hatches.

Album image #6
A bit of knife work... and it fits, more or less.

Album image #7
Ok... let’s use the upper part of a Matchbox M-24 Chaffee... well, part of it.

Album image #8
Ok... now we’re getting somewhere.

Album info

After the original M3 Stuart tank is destroyed, Jeb Stuart and his crew build a jigsaw tank using scrap parts from the "tank graveyard". Built on a modified T-34/76 chassis, the Jigsaw Tank somewhat defies description.
