Tintin in the Land of the Soviets (BMW Motorcycle)

Album image #1
I love these older boxes. So full of nostalgic mystery!

Album image #2
A small sprue for a small kit.

Album image #3
Here's the main pieces. Glued the sidecar together.

Album image #4
Time for a small bit of surgery to open up the front forks.

Album image #5
A bit of tubing for some new forks. Looks better to me.

Album image #6
First coat of Tamiya XF-57 Buff

Album image #7
Thank goodness I found some Tamiya enamel paints. Makes brush painting the details so much easier in my opinion.

Album image #8
Added the engine components.

Album image #9
Sidecar attached, but a few more painting touchups needed.

Album image #10
All assembled and a mini base prepared. Just a coat of Future needed to seal it all together.

Wondering where the surgery is taking this tiny combination....

Just a fun little project off the side of the bench. I had a thought to try and switch the sidecar side… but the chance of failure far exceeds the chance of success. So, I just accept the limitations here. 😉

You could display the sidecar next to a mirror and then have both versions. 😉

I found the missing sprue tucked away in box of odds and ends on the shelf. I put it there for "safe keeping" and then moved the box three times and forgot where it went. 😉

You've got sharp eyes if you can tell it's early Snowy. Nice catch.

Damn... I just realize I forgot the the tiny splotch of gold paint on Tintin's helmet... hang tight...

Looks like MY eyes aren't that sharp. 🙂
