Tamiya: Tiger I RC - WIP
This is an RC kit version of the standard Tiger I kit. Unfortunately I don't have the instructions so I have to figure out the build as I go...
I managed to find an image of the built gearbox and use it to figure out the gears.
Didn't find an image of the turret gearing but managed to figure it out on my own.
All the electronics work!!! yay!!
Completed the main assembly but still have to figure out how the wheels work...
Opened up the transmitter. It has a dodgy "left turn" turret button but wasn't able to fix it.
Primed with Stynylrez
German Grey base coat
All base coated. Now to assemble the wheels and start weathering...
Figuring out the wheels....
Done!
Dry brushing... not so good but after more layers are added it might not matter so much...
Closer up view...
Added a little detailing
Added decals. Now to put down two coats of matt clear before starting the whitewash treatment....
Used Alclad II Klear Kote Matt but it has more of a satin finish than I would like. I've purchased their Klear Kote Flat which hopefully is actually flat.
Testing out how to do weathering technique
That did not turn out well....
Was able to use Windex to remove the weathering!
Much better!
Weathering done. Ready to assemble
Works like a charm. But very noisy!

Album info
This is actually the 48202 Kit, which is the 35216 but modified to be remote controlled. I'm building this for a friend who got the kit as a gift a long time ago. Unfortunately the instructions are missing so I've had to figure out a lot of the construction on my own....
