'69 Chevy Nova COPO
Built as The Turd: a 72 Nova "streetcar"

Ideas

The Turd is a 72 Nova small tire street/strip car that I crew on. Like all vehicles of it's kind, it's never "done", and in a constant state of improvement and upgrade. I chose to use this kit for the base of my project because the AMT 72 Nova kits are of poor quality for this type of project, IMHO. With poorly mastered door frames, and front fenders that are "challenging" at best to fit, I felt it easier to implement the necessary trim and lighting changes to transform the 69 C.O.P.O. into a 72 Nova. (The C.O.P.O. is the only one of the Revell 2nd Gen Nova kits that can be built as a non-SS.) This project will definitely test my skills, as the plan is to fabricate the roll cage, tubular front frame clip, and tubular radiator support from brass tubing (a skill I will be learning), and several other fabricated components and assemblies in various mediums. It will also include every conceivable aftermarket part and detail I can find (that are accurate to the real car).
