As I would like to present my Lotus with a driver figure on modeling shows and contests, I started to airbrush the Jochen Rindt face. 

I am not a figurine specialist of course, but I found a great tutorial on the internet to spray a face in 3 basic steps, with an immediate result. 

The face and hands are now ready, I will start to paint the racesuit next. 

The driver figure has been detail painted and the shadows have been added. 

Next the sponsor decals have been applied. 

After setting the decals, they received a flat coat because they were too glossy. 

It's hard to show the subtle shadows on the racesuit taking pictures, in reality it looks a lot better. 

I missed a driver's helmet. I don't have a sixties model at hand, so I scratched one starting from an eighties helmet (left). I also scratched a vizor (not finished yet). To be continued. 

I finished scratching the vizor with a piece of old celluloid and some punched aluminium rivets. Only the chin straps are still missing. 

Next the helmet and the vizor were spraypainted in metallic dark green and white, after which the were glued together. The artificial light doesn't do the helmet justice, I'll take more pictures outside later on. 

Today I used the natural light to take some more pictures. 

Even in daylight the helmet seems to be black... 

But it's definately metallic dark green.
