November 3, 2013I plan to build this Tamiya kit OOB. Somewhere along the line I lost the fun building straith from the box, and you just can't build every single model as a superdetailed model.2
November 3, 2013So this will be a relaxing build in which I follow the building instructions very closely.3
November 3, 2013First I paint the suspension parts, following the Tamiya color guide closely.4
November 3, 2013I only gave the whole chassis a wash with Smoke once completed.5
November 3, 2013Next up are the black protection plates and the rims.6
November 3, 2013Just be aware of the fact that the tires patterns are not symmetrical...7
November 3, 2013This is a simple kit but still the chassis looks pretty busy once completed.8
November 3, 2013Of course, none of this will be visible once the car is put on it's wheels...9
November 3, 2013There you go! The car has been put on it's 4 wheels.10
November 3, 2013Other shot of the chassis.11
November 3, 2013Meanwhile I sprayed the body, first in grey primer, then in Ts-17 gloss aluminium and last but not least 2 coats of clear coat.12
November 3, 2013This body will have time to dry for a few days now.13
November 3, 2013Once dry I will polish it thouroughly.14
November 3, 2013But for now, just enjoy the Porsche lines 😉15
November 3, 2013I carefully dryfitted the (wet) body onto the finished chassis...16
November 3, 2013The ride height looks good to me. This is the 5th generation of Porsche 911 of which today 7 generations exist.17
November 8, 2013Now I started to build the interior. First all the parts were detail painted.18
November 8, 2013Next I decided to leave the carpet floor lining behind and I replaced it by Scale Fabric (by Tenco Proto).19
November 8, 2013I also added vertical uprights to the interior hub to be able to fix the seat belts.20
November 8, 2013The red seat belts give a nice color touch to the otherwise gray/black interior.21
November 20, 2013I installed the interior onto the chassis and I put the bodywork on top.22
November 20, 2013Let's hope that the window frames match my homemade supports perfectly... Fingers crossed...
