Everything we need should be in here...
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/4/7/6/560476-26441-23-720.jpg)
Ok... let’s see what we’ve found... some tank wheels, some boxes... bits of styrene...
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/4/9/9/560499-26441-37-720.jpg)
Wheels glued together and axel holes drilled out.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/4/9/8/560498-26441-40-720.jpg)
Some more bits and pieces... coming together...
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/7/1/6/560716-26441-82-720.jpg)
A bit of paint and we’re ready for assembly.

Uwe guessed it correctly... Tintin’s scrap rail car from “in the land of the Soviets”
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/8/3/2/560832-26441-97-720.jpg)
Screwed it up a bit while glueing everything in place, but I won’t tell if you don’t.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/8/3/3/560833-26441-19-720.jpg)
Hmmm... needs a bit of paint touch up in a couple of spots.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/8/3/5/560835-26441-37-720.jpg)
After everything is dry, I’ll add a clear coat and maybe a bit of a wash.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/4/3/5/561435-26441-75-720.jpg)
Paint touch ups done... now for a bit of a base.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/4/3/4/561434-26441-18-720.jpg)
And there we are. All done!

Since today (January 10, 2019) is Tintin's 90th Birthday, I've decided to try something a little bit different. I'm going to do a 1-(birth)day build... but what it is will remain a bit of surprise until I'm done. To succeed, I'll need to have show the same level on ingenuity and pluck as our intrepid hero... I hope I'm up to it.
To start off, here's a picture of the "kit". Almost everything I need should be in there, somewhere...😉

You're going to blow up a railway track like the Japanese did in Blue Lotus?

Are you sure you two grew up? Sometimes I wonder about my own sanity when I see who I choose as mates!

Ah - the railway cart packed with dynamite from Tintin in America... are you going to do the locomotive as well?

Close... but no cigar yet... new picture should start giving more clues...

I got everything painted last night, but decided not to rush the final assembly. I'm quite pleased with this little build so far. I had to be quite focused to get as far along as I am so quickly. So that achievement is part of the fun!

All right - so the converted rail car from The Land of the Soviets then (the project the album is connected to did give it away when I thought to look...)

Bingo! However, truth be told, I didn't attach it to a project until I figured it was becoming fairly obvious. Just a bit of assembly to go and it'll be done.

Thanks Hergé! Happy Birthday Tintin! Still a few paint touch ups and a clear coat to do, but for a 1 day build cobbled together from the spares box... I'm happy.

Your happy? The rest of us are thrilled! Well done Legend! As they say in Australia, " Go you good thing"!

Thanks guys. I'm not sure this is anything that the rest of you, if you were motivated, couldn't accomplish just as well. Anyway, I whipped up a little base as well, so it can join the rest of the collection and take its place on the shelf. Just need to add a clear coat and apply the decal with the title. Conveniently I already hand one standing by.

Would've been less if I had rushed the "waiting for paint to dry" time, but I figured there was no real upside to doing that.

Album info
Tintin first appeared in French on 10 January 1929 in Le Petit Vingtième (The Little Twentieth), a youth supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle (The Twentieth Century). That makes 10 January 2019 his 90th birthday. So to celebrate, I have something a little different up my sleeve...
This is the one-(birth)day build album for the Scrap Rail Car that Tintin builds in the album Tintin 01: In the Land of the Soviets. The build, like the car in the adventure, is based is based on whatever I could find in the spares box.
