Ok, let's begin... I've got a used party "popper" cone, some clear plastic tubing, the engine off an Academy 1/72 F-8E, some plastic sheets and a domahicky that I think came in a long-forgotten Gundam kit...
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/0/7/4/584074-26441-63-720.jpg)
Cut the cone to length... oh, yeah, and I've got some Tamiya racing car tires...
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/0/7/3/584073-26441-46-720.jpg)
I need to thicken up the cone, so some CA glue, and some plastic sheets to the rescue.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/0/7/5/584075-26441-67-720.jpg)
And of course the putty... lots of putty!
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/4/5/5/584455-26441-40-720.jpg)
Hold the phone... I was out with the family today and ran cross this noise maker things... I see lots of good shapes there.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/4/5/4/584454-26441-55-720.jpg)
Just a little bit of slicing and then some rearranging...
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/4/5/2/584452-26441-88-720.jpg)
Yes. That’s a MUCH better shape.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/4/5/3/584453-26441-10-720.jpg)
The top part is added, and now comes more putty. This is shaping up much better now!
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/9/2/8/584928-26441-77-720.jpg)
Now to make the bottom... here’s what we need.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/9/2/9/584929-26441-19-720.jpg)
A bit of heated plastic and a smash moulding later...
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/9/3/0/584930-26441-50-720.jpg)
A few more slices and some more reassembling.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/9/3/1/584931-26441-86-720.jpg)
Now we’ve got the main parts... and a few extras.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/1/1/7/585117-26441-98-720.jpg)
Let’s try a dry fit...
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/1/1/6/585116-26441-32-720.jpg)
Hmmm... does that seem like the main body is too long? Uh-oh.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/7/2/9/587729-26441-22-720.jpg)
Ok... I give up... time for plan C... or...D...
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/3/2/8/588328-26441-95-720.jpg)
Plan.. G... get a clear ring from the fashion market. I had to sift through a lot of buckles, belts, buttons and clasps, but I found one that was the right size.

Moving right along, let's unpack and sort some electronics.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/3/3/0/588330-26441-55-720.jpg)
I think I found everything and soldered them all in the right spots. Hopefully we'll have an electromagnet at the end of this...

I still had to finish some details on the top and I just happened to find some handy little spoons.

Cut and glued on. Will need a bit of sanding, but not too much.
