![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/9/7/3/613973-26441-51-720.jpg)
Well, that was easy... it’s pre-built.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/9/7/2/613972-26441-32-720.jpg)
So let’s deconstruct it and make some improvements
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/3/5/7/615357-26441-20-720.jpg)
Still scrubbing off the paint, but let’s add some LEDs inside...
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/3/0/6/618306-26441-40-720.jpg)
The underside panel is made of some strange rubbery vinyl. It needs to be replace.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/3/0/8/618308-26441-87-720.jpg)
Luckily I have a bit of tubing that should work.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/3/0/7/618307-26441-76-720.jpg)
A bit more fitting needed, but that’ll do.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/6/1/0/618610-26441-39-720.jpg)
Underside all wired out and glued up, so I decided to try out the base.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/0/4/2/619042-26441-44-720.jpg)
White primer... shows ALL the gaps.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/2/5/8/629258-26441-71-720.jpg)
Time to get serious on the air intakes... first then need to be thinned.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/6/0/629260-26441-54-720.jpg)
Reinforced with some polystyrene... I also destroyed one of the engines in the process, so a bit of scratch building using MiG-21 wheels as a starting point.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/5/9/629259-26441-22-720.jpg)
And looking good. Now for some painting.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/3/7/8/630378-26441-85-720.jpg)
Interior of the intakes painted. Looks pretty good.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/3/7/7/630377-26441-15-720.jpg)
Now for a bit of work on the rear of the engine.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/3/7/9/630379-26441-63-720.jpg)
Let’s get some paint on to see what still needs work.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/5/7/0/631570-26441-13-720.jpg)
Welcome to the show, Major Roundel... nice eyepatch!
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/7/1/631571-26441-90-720.jpg)
It took a bit of squeezing (and cutting) to get them seated... but they're in.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/5/7/2/631572-26441-57-720.jpg)
Canopy on... ready to go!
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/2/6/2/719262-26441-31-720.jpg)
Some masking required.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/8/1/6/725816-26441-17-720.jpg)
Underside coat of paint on.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/8/1/3/725813-26441-91-720.jpg)
Top coat of paint on... a few flecks need to be touched up.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/8/1/4/725814-26441-52-720.jpg)
Still a few more touches needed
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/3/6/1/729361-26441-65-720.jpg)
Decals on. Not quite satisfied with the homemade decals, but at this scale they're so small that even cutting them is a challenge. So I guess we live with the results.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/3/6/0/729360-26441-45-720.jpg)
One last check of the lights and we're done... oops. Except for the missiles. I almost forgot about them.
